Arthur, a man besieged by stress and anxiety, is going through a divorce that leaves him deeply frustrated. Constantly reflecting on his problems and the disputes with his ex-partner, where he feels devalued, drives him to seek an escape. Even when he tries to get away from home, the relief is not enough to ease his distress. The accumulation of these difficulties, combined with his feelings of inferiority, creates extreme tension in Arthur. In an impulsive moment, he succumbs to the urge to start a fire. This act brings him intense relief, adrenaline, and personal. Arthur feels a fascination with the flames, experiencing a sense of power that courses through his entire being. This is how John reveals himself to be a pyromaniac. However, Arthur's duality does not end there. Alongside his pyromaniac tendencies, he also works as a firefighter. This firefighter-pyromaniac finds double pleasure: the excitement of knowing he started the fire, and the satisfaction of helping to extinguish it. It is within this duality that Arthur lives.
