SYNOPSIS
A boy from the province tries to lose his accent, but refinds himself by writing poetry in his own language, Frisian. Hok van Rou was made in collaboration with Frisian/Dutch-language poet Tsead Bruinja. He was Poet Laureate in 2019 and 2020. Filmmaker Ester Eva Damen shared with him her memories of barn parties in the Frisian countryside. This led to a poem and the film ‘Hok fan Rou’.
