SYNOPSIS

This short film is the result of time spent in a Closed Educational Center. Attempting to find the right way to create something with these boys. These boys who come and go. No more than six months in this transitional place. So the short film. Making films differently. Filming them over a short period. Imagining a story together. Envisioning a possible transmission in this present that is crumbling. The words of Simon Johannin. L'Été des Charognes, which moved me and continues to move me. Giving it to them. But filming them is subject to rules of anonymity. They must not be recognizable, their whereabouts must remain unknown, we must not know what they have done, nothing of them should be recognized. I attempted a story within these constraints. I tried to create a fiction where everyone could identify themselves. To hide their faces, there weren't many solutions; there was the mask. The theater mask, the mask that conceals and reveals us, the mask we wear every day, the mask of violence, the mask of adolescence, the mask of possibilities. They created their doubles themselves. With us. They shaped them; it became the film. From a constraint, an obviousness emerged. These characters would be different, like ageless beings, in a poetry of carrion, which has no time or space. “Damn, in everything there is a part for angels.”
