SYNOPSIS

Baher lives in an isolated haven with his wife Sanea and their daughter Ym. Their peace is shattered by the arrival of Ihab, a wounded young man bleeding on their front door. Baher is paralysed by fear, as he knows that Ihab is the real owner of the house, whom Baher murdered in his youth and whose property he now claims. So as not to draw suspicion to his heinous act, Baher is at first forced to accept Ihab’s presence until he recovers. Meanwhile, Baher’s sleep is plagued with nightmares in which his past crimes come to confront him. His passion for gardening is revealed to be nothing more than a means of guarding the terrible secret buried under his rose bushes. As Ihab heals, his confidence grows, and he oversteps the boundaries, assuming Baher’s place in the house. Baher grows increasingly desperate to get rid of Ihab. He invites Ihab on a fishing trip, during which Ihab makes clear his intention to take back everything that is his. Baher drowns Ihab, thinking the story is over. When Baher returns home, it becomes clear his attempt to avoid facing up to his past has been in vain.
