Blending intimate family archives from her grandmother's house in Kazakhstan with present-day footage in Brussels, the documentary meditates on "aynalayin"—an untranslatable Kazakh term of endearment meaning “let me circle around you.” As the filmmaker reflects on what we choose to remember and what remembers us, the film subtly reclaims a language once silenced, transforming the act of remembering into a circular journey—around loved ones, around moments preserved in time, and around a word that carries the weight of cultural identity and familial bonds.
