Since childhood, Raya found comfort in conversing with and praying to God at a nearby church in her village, until her relocation to Beirut revealed her identity as a Muslim. After she grows up, 26-year-old Raya finds herself unjustly framed by society for being a Shia Muslim. Despite the complexity of the sectarianism of Lebanese society Raya and Rida, a durzi man from a different religious background fall in love, sparking societal backlash. Determined to challenge societal norms, Raya engages in intense debates with a sheikh from her own religion, passionately advocating for the right to love across religious boundaries. Through their discussions, Raya emerges partially victorious, asserting her beliefs with conviction. However, despite her efforts, Rida ultimately surrenders to societal and family pressure and marries another durzi woman, adhering to traditional and religious expectations. The film explores themes of love, faith, and the struggle against societal prejudice.
