SYNOPSIS

In over a hundred feature-length films, short films and TV-series episodes, Alfred Edel played himself from the birth of New German Cinema in the early 1960s to New German Television in the mid-1990s. The found-footage collage “Alfred Edel’s Attack On Himself“ combines his film and television appearances in a humorous, often failing dialog with himself and the viewer and recounts (based on his collaborations first with Alexander Kluge, Werner Herzog and Roland Klick, later with Christoph Schlingensief, Herbert Achternbusch, Helma Sanders-Brahms and Monika Treut) the unique career of a marginal and cult figure in German film and television history.
