SYNOPSIS

Exiled from Macedonia after a public clash over rumors of his illegitimacy, a young Alexander flees with his mother Olympias to her homeland, where she initiates him into the ancient Dionysian rites. There, he drinks the sacred Kykeon—a psychedelic brew that plunges him into a descent through his unconscious, rendered in a bold fusion of live action and stylized animation. In this mythic inner world, he confronts Bacchus, god of chaos and ecstasy, who challenges him with a brutal truth: the parts of himself he fears most are the very forces that will define his destiny.
