SYNOPSIS

Short: Lola befriends a mysterious sea creature at the beach, and during their day together at the fun fair, she faces questions of belonging in her new home. Long: A cautious and curious thirteen-year-old Lola befriends a mysterious sea creature on the shore of her new hometown. Together, they venture to the nearby fun fair, where Lola confronts mixed feelings of longing and belonging as she invites her new friend into the place she now calls home. Interwoven with documentary recordings from interviews with Lola and her school peers about migrating to London from Mexico and learning a new language as a child.
