Galicia in the 1950s. A land and time of poverty, ruled by men. Concha and her friend Ramona start the day while it is still dark. Their husbands are sleeping. They go to the river to wash octopuses. They are pulpeiras. It’s lunch time at the pilgrimage site. The pulpeiras cut and sell octopus at a good pace. Concha has a problem, and she is alone; her husband is out. With the help of her colleagues, the damage is lessened. Concha needs to know the cause. This can’t happen again.
