SYNOPSIS

The short documentary film Poverty Saves depicts the work of performance artist Pentti-Otto Koskinen (b.1952) in proclaiming poverty as a saviour. Pentti-Otto Koskinen's actions create a disruption in people's everyday lives. He lies in the snow on the walkways and stands in the subway corridors holding a sign that says "poverty saves". The film considers to what extent his actions exceed the boundaries of performance or provocation. What does he mean?
