SYNOPSIS

In the winter of 2022, when China’s Zero-Covid policy was finally changing, Zitong's mother died for her lung disease, and she has had no family in the world since. Under suffocating grief, loneliness, and remorese, she kept recalling her middle school memory in 2016, since the early summer, when her mom was their form teacher, and she cheated on an official exam with a boy classmate, Xinzhu. In the past of 2016, the whole class was yet filled with the happiness of the very stage between childhood and adolescence, the world was still shined by the bright glow of sun as nothing was yet determined. Zitong was still owning the pleasure of keeping a cool face and being rebellious and unfettered, and Xinzhu's dad was still running all over the world, while his mom didn’t need to worry about anything. In the future after 2022 narrated in the voice over, Zitong lives in heavy pain, taking months to move a bit in her life, back and forth, and hurting herself deep in the skin and bone, until she could no longer take it. The two sides of the 7 years of time mirror, distort, and reshape each other, until the very sense of the time being vanished emerges, leaving only Zitong’s heartbeat slowly falling over and over again.
