In a colonial house in downtown Havana, Malelo tries to legalize the inheritance of the home left to him by María Antonia, a neighbor of bourgeois origin with no descendants whom he cared for for decades. The papers he has are expired, and bureaucratic obstacles force him to start over. Back inside, the outside world is left behind: the short film is confined to this decaying aristocratic house, decorated in pastel tones and inhabited by Malelo and his blind dog, Donatella. As he cleans, sews, and observes in silence, Malelo wanders around like a guest who has not yet fully recognized himself as the owner. He welcomes neighbors who come in, chat, and relax. They talk about María Antonia, her free life in times when it was not allowed, and her family's privileges before the Revolution. An intimate portrait of an increasingly isolated island where everyday difficulties are overcome by being together.
