A new mother, kept awake by the sound of foxes prowling outside her home, ventures into the night to scare them off, only to find herself a part of a strange and feral ritual. The story first took shape when the director tried to scare off shrieking foxes at night in London and ended up scaring himself. The film is a psychological thriller that deals with isolation in motherhood and the difficulties of connecting with our own animalistic instincts. It centres around a protagonist who is drawn in by a wildness and anarchy that’s lacking in her depressingly suburban, post-partum life.
