SYNOPSIS

Emil, a lonely 18-year-old boy in suburban California, finds himself on the brink of adulthood—and despair. With his mother drowning in debt and no one left to count on, he gets involved in a dangerous bank robbery that pushes him beyond the limits of fear and innocence. Set in the hushed heat of summer, Emil is a tense, intimate portrait of a boy longing to be seen, loved, and strong—no matter the cost.
