SYNOPSIS

The boy Xiaohai has a deep affection for his father Li Gang, who works as a forest ranger. They often go fishing and play together, enjoying the happy times between father and son. However, his father died in the line of duty. Xiaohai is unwilling to believe that his father is gone forever. He waits at the school gate every day and wanders alone by the reservoir. One dusk, Xiaohai sits by the reservoir holding a fishing rod. When his mother comes over, he firmly hands his father's fishing rod to her, and the mother and son fish together.
