SYNOPSIS

The short film produced by the DDG Project of Davide De Gregorio for the EP “Notes”, divided into five chapters—one for each track of the EP—redefines the concept of the music video, transforming it into a visual journey dedicated to Cinema. Each chapter is a piece of a larger story, intertwining sweat, dreams, conflict, and reconciliation in a deeply visual and emotional narrative. Chapter 1 (Number 53): The protagonist trains relentlessly in solitude. Grey tones, sweat, and effort dominate the imagery. A prisoner of himself and his frustrations, he prepares for an imminent challenge. Chapter 2 (Over): Returning home late at night, exhausted, he eats in silence, haunted by memories of love and violent quarrels with his wife, tormented by a constant inner struggle. He watches her as she sleeps, silently asking forgiveness before breaking into tears. Chapter 3 (Thunderball): Outside the gym, his stern coach pushes him to the limit. Dark clouds announce an incoming storm: the scene heightens the sense of fatigue and the harshness of discipline. Chapter 4 (Exit): He plunges into a nightmarish dream, where he sees his wife happy with another man whose face is never revealed. Consumed by jealousy and rage, he is about to strike when a mysterious force drags him into the darkness. Absurd and grotesque visions eventually lead him back to the gym. Chapter 5 (Sexy City Lights): Awakened from the nightmare, he faces his destiny. In the ring, his opponent is his own reflection: himself. The fight turns into a metaphorical dance, embodying his inner conflict. Shattered by the ultimate trial, he finds inner peace and reconciles with his wife, the only spectator. His “Good Self” triumphs over his “Bad Self.” The video features legendary co-star Leee John, the unique and iconic voice of Imagination, with over 30 million records sold worldwide and countless international concerts. After his collaborations with Elton John and Robert Smith (The Cure) on the Gorillaz album, Leee John now chooses to work with the DDG Project, marking yet another milestone in a career of continuous artistic evolution. His presence seals the cultural significance of this project, which unites music, cinema, and social engagement. The narrative pays tribute to masterpieces such as Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull, Paul Haggis’s Million Dollar Baby, Rocky, Fight Club, and Sergio Leone’s The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. At its core, it delivers a powerful message against domestic violence: Stop Domestic Violence!
