SYNOPSIS

Mina’s happiest moments are spent at the aquarium with her best friend, Seyoung, watching whales glide through the water. On the brink of a new school year, the two reaffirm their bond in that familiar place. But when Mina learns that Seyoung has shared a secret with others while keeping it from her, hurt feelings emerge, and their friendship begins to crack. Once, small whales walked on land before entering the sea and becoming the largest creatures on Earth. In the midst of adolescence, Mina and Seyoung struggle to navigate their emotions and relationships. Like those early whales clumsily taking steps toward the ocean, the girls too stumble forward in their own evolution. Fragile yet noble, this process of growing up is one that perhaps even we, already grown, continue to experience in different ways.
