Twelve-year-old Nora is determined to draw attention to the climate crisis. Inspired by protest actions, she plans to throw a can of tomato soup at a recently rediscovered painting from the Hague School. As she prepares her protest, she becomes increasingly fascinated by the artist: 19th-century painter Matthijs Otten, who resisted the rise of industrialization through his tranquil landscapes. As she dives deeper into his work, she gets to know Matthijs and his paintings in a way she never expected. In the end, Nora stands face to face with the painting. The can of soup is in her bag. But her perspective has changed.
