Alain Ross Bio/filmography – 2023 Alain Ross was born in Lyon (France) of Scottish & French origins. He began his career as a founding member of Torn Curtain Theatre Company in London with whom he toured all over the UK (Lyric Hammersmith, Edinburgh Festival, Dublin Festival, Cardiff Sherman) and L’Atelier de la Rue Michèle in France (Cartoucherie de Vincennes, Centre Dramatique National Nord). He worked as an actor and writer, then as a director in 1994, when he staged “Beasts” at the Hawth Arts Centre, Crawley, UK. He then began to work in film as a writer and director. In 1997 he wrote and directed the short film “Bound”, which was selected in over 40 international festivals and won several awards. In 2000 he wrote and directed his first feature film “L’Attrape-rêves” (Dreamcatcher) which won critical acclaim. He then co-wrote Eric Véniard’s first feature film “Une affaire qui roule” (A good little business) released in 2003. He went on to co-write “Ce que mes yeux ont vu” (What my eyes have seen) a feature by Laurent de Bartillat, which won the best script award at the European Film Festival in Angers. He has continued working as a screenwriter, developing many projects in Europe and the US. In 2011 he wrote and directed “Kiss and Kill” an award-winning short film. He is currently completing “Undying” a short film and developing “Porcupines”, a new feature.
