BIOGRAPHIE

[EN] Dennis has made many films as writer, director, producer, and designer/animator. These have been fictional and documentary, animated and live-action, comedy and drama, and often inventive hybrids. Animated films such as CHAINSAW (2007), HIS MOTHER'S VOICE (1997), DANCE OF DEATH (1983), THE DARRA DOGS (1993), INTO THE DARK (2001), A PHOTO OF ME (2017) etc. have screened widely on television and at film festivals around the world, and have won numerous awards. Career retrospectives have screened in Poznan, Krakow, Melbourne, Brisbane, Berkeley, Gothenberg, Kecskemet, and Seoul. Dennis was also featured in Chris Robinson’s book as one of the “Unsung Heroes of Animation”. He has spoken at many international conferences, and has taught, presented his work and run workshops at many universities and film schools around the world. Dennis was Lecturer in Animation at the VCA School of Film and Television in Melbourne 1992-4. His book "Life in Death: My Animated Films 1976-2020" was published by CRC Press in 2022.
