BIOGRAPHIE

Federico Rivia is a Visual Artist/Filmmaker. A talent for drawing, painting and sculpting emerged at an early age. Comic books and movies were childhood passions and inspired by the work of Mario Bava, Dario Argento, Ridley Scott, John Carpenter, John Landis and Rick Baker, he would create homemade costumes, monsters and masks to scare his friends. After graduating from Castello Sforzesco of Milan, Federico worked as an Illustrator and was recruited by Ubik, a renowned VFX company in Milan. There he learned computer animation and within a year was running their 3D department. Soon after he moved to the US to pursue his dream of filmmaking. He began making short films while working as a VFX Artist/Lead for companies like PDI/DreamWorks, Sony, Weta Digital and Bad Robot on many blockbuster movies including Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, 2012, Star Trek Beyond and Alita: Battle Angel. A few years ago, Federico completed his first indie feature. “The Odyssey Book 9”, an animated short which puts a different spin on Homer’s epic poem, is his latest project.
