BIOGRAPHIE

Belén Blanco has a career in film, theater and television, establishing herself as one of the most important actresses of her generation. Belén is now also a director of short and feature films. Born and raised in the province of Buenos Aires, Belén's acting education took place during adolescence after moving to the capital. After a short study period of two years, he made his debut at the Teatro San Martin with the play Los Invertidos directed by Alberto Ure, he also made his film debut with Picado Fino by Esteban Sapir, a film that won the Audience Award in Berlin. When she traveled to Spain for the premiere of ¨La puta y la ballena¨ by Luis Punzo, she was selected to star in ¨The Nun¨, a film produced by Filmax and written by Jaime Balagueró. In 2019 he premiered La Deuda by Gustavo Fontán and toured Spain with Kinderbuch by Diego Manso. During the 2019/2020 season, he acts in Hamlet directed by Rubén Szumacher, at the San Martín theater and premieres Erdosain, a film inspired by the 7 crazy people by Roberto Arlt. Belén Blanco began as a self-taught filmmaker. In 2007 he obtained an FNA award and made his first short film "Nobody", with which he participated in the Official Competition of the Berlin Festival. His work encompasses documentary and experimental records, family films, and fiction, as a gesture of appropriation and displacement of his own stories, and their recontextualization. Lives and works in Buenos Aires.
