[EN] Megan Durnford (Director of Touching Memory) Biography After 15 years of writing for newspapers, multimedia projects and non-fiction books, I directed my first film "Just A Lawn" in 2007. This short documentary about the dark side of "perfect lawns" has screened at 14 international film festivals. including Le Festival International du Film d’Environnement in Paris, France, CMS Vatavaran Environment and Wildlife Film festival in New Delhi, India and the Reel Earth Environmental Film Festival in New Zealand. Just A Lawn won a Katherine Knight award at the Earthvision Festival in Santa Cruz, California. In 2011, I directed "Une brique à la fois", an affectionate portrayal of adult LEGO builders that demonstrates that LEGO is not simply a child’s toy. In the hands of Marc, Nathalie and Michel, LEGO is a tool for self-fulfillment and a raw material for creative expression. Une brique à la fois was selected by the Festival des Films du Monde de Montréal, the Festival du Film des Cantons-de-l’Est and the Yorkton Film Festival. Une brique à la fois was nominated for the 2013 Documentary Arts and Culture Golden Sheaf award. This film has also aired on Canal D in Quebec. I regularly attend master classes at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma and the Rencontres Internationales du documentaire de Montréal. In 2009, I travelled to Ottawa to attend a five-day workshop on documentary film at the Summer Institute of Film and Television. In 2012, I travelled to Amsterdam to attend IDFAcademy.
