BIOGRAPHIE

Felippe MUSSEL (1984, Brazil). Filmmaker and Sound Designer based in Rio de Janeiro. He directed the feature documentary "A place to take away" (2012, european premiere at the Malaga Film Festival), an investigation of touristic tours Rio de Janeiro favelas. He also co-directed and co-scripted with award-winning director Maria Ramos the short film "Ritos", a documentary about young people involved with protests and celebrations of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He is responsible for the sound of more than 40 contemporary brazilian films, working with directors such as Maya Da-Rin, José Jofilly, João Viera Torres, Marina Meliande, Felipe Bragança and Anita da Silveira in films such as “The Fever” (Locarno 2019). ), “Fireflies” (Clermont-Ferrand 2021), “Abigail” (Quinzaine 2016), “The Living Dead” (Quinzaine 2012) and “The Joy” (Quinzaine 2009). He is a professor at the Department of Cinema at PUC-Rio, a PhD candidate in Contemporary Arts Studies at Universidade Federal Fluminense, where also holds a Master's degree in Film and Audiovisual Studies with a research about brazilian filmmaker Adirley Queirós.
