BIOGRAPHIE

Leonid Shmelkov Was born on 5.07.1982 in Moscow, Russia. Education 1994 — 2006 Engaged in the children drama school. Participated in the expedition to create short film on the Kola Peninsula. 1995 — 2000 Trained in several Moscow studios of drawing and painting, as well as separately took lessons of illustration and font art. 2000 — 2005 Graduated from Moscow State University of Printing, Faculty of Graphic Arts. During the study took courses in graphic design, painting, composition and drawing. First part of my fraduation project was a series of lithographs of the book of fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen under the title ≪The Golden Boy≫. And the second part of my graduation work was animated film ≪The Tale about Little Shrimp≫. My graduation supervisor was known worldwide book artist Boris Diadorov. And a book of fairy tales by Andersen with my illustrations were later published a Moscow publishing house, and illustrations themselves participated in several book illustration exhibitions. 2006 — 2009 Studied at the Studio School ≪SHAR≫ in the specialty director of animated films and animator. In the training process there were included courses of classical animation, drawing, drama, directing, script writing, editing and pantomime. 2009 After the study I have made my first graduation animated film ≪Dog-walking ground≫ that was selected for many international festivals and was awarded with several prizes and diplomas. My graduation supervisor was famous Russian animator Ivan Maximov. Work 1998 — 2006 Worked as a freelance designer, web-designer and online project developer 2004 — 2006 Worked as a designer and illustrator in the Moscow publishing house ≪U Nikitskih vorot≫. Design the promotional materials, as well as several books and periodicals. 2006 — 2008 Drew illustrations for the children magazine ≪Kukumber≫. 2006 — hitherto Collaborated with various publishers as an illustrator. During this time, issued about 10 books (see illustration) 2006 — hitherto Conducted workshops, commonly based on those books that I have illustrated (in libraries, art studios, the Jewish Museum, on the great festival of cartoons, Tretyakov Gallery). In total I spent about 20 master classes in drawing, developing imagination and animation for children and adults. 2007 — hitherto Composed in the commonwealth of young artists ≪Magic Saw≫ and participated in several exhibitions. 2009 — 2014 Participated in the creation and operation of the animated series for children ≪VEZUHA!≫, Studio ≪Metronome≫. As the director I have made 5 series (5 minutes each). At the same time worked as an artist and animator. Later I took up the post of art supervisor on this project. I coordinated the work of artists and directors, monitored the quality.
