Amerissa Basta was born in Athens, where she also lives, works and shoots most of her films. She has studied Communication, Mass Media and Civilization in Panteion University of Athens and she has obtained a Master’s Degree in Cultural Management from the same institution, during which she has taken classes of filming and script writing. She is an MA graduate in Creative Writing and Screenwriting at the Scholl of Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She currently works as Head of Marketing and Communications at an established Greek Publishing House and she has been making short films and participating at film and television productions since 2009. She has directed 7 short films that have been selected and awarded in international festivals. Amerissa is currently working on her first feature film “Life in a beat”, that has been officially selected and participated in Torino Film Lab Extended 2019 and MFI 2 Script Program 2019 and will be a Greek/North Macedonian production, already funded by Greek Film Center and ERT S.A. (Greek Public Broadcast).
