Jennifer Rainsford is a visual artist and director based in Stockholm. Her short films and installations have been shown at festivals such as Oberhausen, Berlinale, Rotterdam and CPH:DOX. She has also worked as a journalist and documentary filmmaker at the cult TV-show Tracks on Arte in Paris. She is a long term collaborator and video maker for composers such Shida Shahabi, Koki Nakano and Teho Teardo. She has been a resident at Cite des Arts Internationale Paris. Her short When I Die the World Ends and the Moving Sweden financed middle-length film Birds in Space premiered at Gothenburg IFF in 2017 and 2018, whilst her last sci-fi shortfilm Lake on fire was selected for the main competition “Startsladden” at Gothenburg IFF 2020. As a participant of the prestigious Chicken and Egg Pictures program 2020 she has finished the art documentary Stories from the Debris, premiering 2022 as All Of Our Heartbeats Are Connected Through Exploding Stars, together with the production company Momento Film.
