BIOGRAPHIE

Born in the german Ruhrarea. After I finished school I spent nine months in southern and eastern Africa and took part in a cultural exchange program of the International Youth Services (IJGD) in Zimbabwe. Afterwards I moved to Berlin and was involved in the construction and management of the self-organized film school filmArche. I was active in the European youth film network NISI MASA and was responsible for several national and international youth film projects in Germany, France and Hungary. At the same time, I gained set experience during a 4-month direction internship at the feature film MONDKALB and during a production internship at the german TV multi-part MISS TEXAS. During my directing studies at filmArche, my first year film COMMUNICATOR won the audience award at LGFF Hamburg and the Made-in-Germany Award at the Open Eyes Festival in Marburg, as well as shown at more than 30 festivals worldwide. The student short films BÄRENKLAU (hogweed), LIEBE KINDER (dear children) and FENSTER UND GARDINEN (windows and curtain) were also presented at international short film festivals. My graduation film LUFTLEERER RAUM (Airless Space) was premiered at the International Filmfestival of Hof and evaluated at numerous European festivals. It was awarded twice at the NW Filmfestival in Vancouver in the categories for the best leading actor and best camera. With LUFTLEERER RAUM I also took part in the Shortfilm-Corner at the Cannes Film Festival. Besides my studies, I taught directing acting and camera acting and regularly trained my skills by directing studio short films and exercise scenes at the Institute for Drama, Film and Television Professions in Berlin. I have also written and directed the children's play SPREERÄUBER AHOI! and produced video installations for the play SPIEGELBLICKE at the state theater of Westphalia (Westfälisches Landestheater). The screenplay for the feature-length film TUMANE was developed as part of the CINEMATCH script development programme and supervised by ZDF - KLEINES FERNSEHSPIEL. Today I am still an active member of the filmArche-Network and also member of the Filmnetwork at the DFFB in Berlin. Currently, I am co-writing the mini-series SHITSTORIES (with Ina-Lene Dinse), and also developing and researching the feature-length film TILT, about a young female paramedic in the emergency rescue service and have therefore completed an internship in 24-hour shifts in an ambulance for the research and shot a short film TILT. I shot the short film as an autonomous project, but also to present the mise en scene and the intended style of narration for the feature-length film.
