Aleksandra graduated in Cinema and Audiovisual Arts at the L’Institut Européen de Cinéma et d’Audiovisuel . She has also completed 'Directing Series' at the National Film and Television School in UK. In 2012 she directed independent micro-budget feature film 'Dolls Can't Cry' starring award winning actress Lara Belmont. Her four short films have been screened at more than 80 film festivals worldwide and received many awards. Most recent film 'Last Day of Summer' won Young Artist Academy Awards in Los Angeles for Best Performance (also known as 'kiddies Oscars') as well as 53rd Worldfest Houston and Afrodite Award for Best International Short in Rome. Another short 'My Friend Ivor' won UNCHOSEN Best Modern Slavery Film Award and film 'Brothers' received award for Best Mental Health Film at the Cinemental Festival in Sevilla. Aleksandra is currently developing her second feature film 'Mother', set as a Polish-UK co-production which received development support from Polish Film Institute and has been shortlisted for Sundance Script Lab. The project has been developed at EKRAN+ at the Wajda Studio in Warsaw and Sources 2 in Norway. Parallel to her directing Aleksandra has years of experience working as VFX artist and on-set VFX supervisor on film and high-end TV drama series for Netflix, HBO and BBC ('Chernobyl', 'Letter for the King', 'Outlander', 'Behind Her Eyes', 'Suburbicon'). In 2011 she won Emmy Award for Outstanding Visual Effects on David Attenborough series and with her team she has been further nominated for an Emmy in 2016 & 2017. Most recently Aleksandra has been selected for a year long Mentoring scheme by Directors UK with director Miranda Bowen (credits include 'Killing Eve', 'The Last Post', 'Women in Love').
