Serkan Ertekin

BIOGRAPHIE

Serkan Ertekin was born in 1979 in İstanbul. In college years he won awards in music field and wrote music for theater plays. His later interest in animation, photography and film moved him to America. From his assistanship years on he worked as a designer, animator and a director on diverse projects and won important awards. Influenced by the historical short animation called ‘Amentü Gemisi Nasıl Yürüdü/ How Did The Amentü Ship Move’ by Tonguç Yaşar ans Sezer Tansuğ from 70’s, he wrote, shot and produced his first short film Aidiyet/Belonging. Aidiyet, as one of the first Turkish films containing an animation sequence of about 4 minutes in its entire 30 minutes length, won awards nationally and internationally.
