Zahra Vargas (*1980, Switzerland) studied Direction in HEAD-Cinéma du réel (Haute école d'art et design) in Geneva and Film Photography in SICA (Argentinian Film Industry Trade Union) in Buenos Aires. In Argentina she set up an audiovisual studio called Kairos Studio, which produced works in various fields such as sustainable development, architecture and anthropology. Her graduation film LA FIN D'HOMERE (2015) was made with the collaboration of hunters (CH). The short has been travelling in festivals such as the Clermont-Ferrand short film festival, Entrevues de Belfort, Indielisboa, Kurzfilmtage, the Berlin Critics Weeks and the Munich Dokfest, winning the Megaherz Film School Award (2016). She worked as a language coach for non-professional actors in the feature film «Azor» by Andreas Fontana (CH/FR/ARG)(Berlinale, 2021). She is currently developing a new project at the postgraduate centre EQZE (Elías Querejeta Film School) in San Sebastián, Spain. BELARRIMOTZ (L'OREILLE COURTE)(2021) is her last short film.
