BIOGRAPHIE

[EN] After a PHD in Philosophy, Maria attended the École Supérieure des Études Cinématographiques in Paris where she made her first short films and worked as assistant director and editor for ARTE FRANCE. Back in Italy, she began her career as international advertising director, signing important international campaigns for clients as Nestlè, Coca-Cola, Ferrero, Heineken, P&G, Garnier… At the same time, she continues her authorial research: the short films have been selected and won prizes in many international festivals. Her latest work ALBERTINE WHERE ARE YOU?, inspired by Proust's Recherche, was awarded Best Director at the Settimana Internazionale della Critica and Best Short Film Fedic at the 79th MOSTRA DEL CINEMA DELLA BIENNALE DI VENEZIA, Best Film at the Mostra del Cinema Italiano a Barcelona and nominated as Best Short at the David di Donatello 68. She is writing her first feature film IF NOT WINTER, produced by Cinedora.
