[EN] Miranda Ballesteros is a Spanish-born, London-based producer, writer and director. With over a decade of experience in the film industry, Miranda has developed a multidisciplinary approach to filmmaking, starting out directing music videos before pursuing an MA in Production at the National Film & Television School, where she won the IOSH Award for her graduating film. Other short film accolades include the BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Short Film for "This Far Up", and the MacLaren Award for Best British Animation at Edinburgh for "My Stuffed Granny”. In 2018, she produced her first feature, "Farming", for Montebello Productions, which premiered at TIFF and won the Michael Powell Award for Best British Debut at Edinburgh before being theatrically released around the world. In 2024, under her own label, Lunatica, she produced feel-good road movie, "Leo & Lou", a Spanish-UK co-production with ICCA, Zeta Studios and Frida Films. "Leo & Lou" will premiere at Tallin Black Nights Festival in 2025 and is distributed by Filmax and Netflix. "The Colt Pixie", Miranda's narrative directorial debut, demonstrates the kinds of stories she hopes to tell as a writer/director. A unique magical realist fable that draws upon deeply human experience whilst using the language of myth and metaphor to connect with audiences.
