Nehemias Colindres is a 1st generation Salvadorian-American, raised in Los Angeles. Colindres and his family frequently moved throughout the city, in-between several diverse neighborhoods. The experience of being exposed to a rich cultural childhood played a major influence on his artistic sensibilities. Colindres studied film at Brooks Institute of Photography where he wrote and directed 'Jornada Al Norte', it was heavily praised for its poignant view on immigration. In the fall of 2011, Nehemias packed up his reel, moved to Berlin, and for the past several years has been directing commercials for clients around the globe. 2013 saw the beginning of his award-winning short film poetry series, 'Berlin, Berlin'. In 2017, Colindres returned to longer short form with 'JUNG', which gave insight into the Turkish youth culture of Berlin. It was awarded a Special Jury mention at Huesca Film Festival and also selected for the main competition at Odense Film Festival as well as Interfilm Festival and Landshut. In 2019, Nehemias was invited to his first solo photo exhibition, 'LAYERED VOYEURISM', a collection of candid observational photography from the last five years. His latest short film 'STEVE' a short film that explores the early stages of a person coming out as transgender is set to be out in 2022. He is currently finishing post-production on "Hit Me Up", a short film about love and anxiety. He is also in development with Windlight Pictures on "Neverland", a neo-coming of age tv series about the trials and tribulations of adulthood set in Berlin.
