BIOGRAPHIE

Jackson Kroopf is filmmaker and educator from Los Angeles. He has worked at the intersection of arts and activism in Poughkeepsie, Oakland, and Los Angeles, focusing on the role collaborative, narrative art can play in social change. His work plays with self-mythmaking, healing through creative expression, and the confrontation of struggle through creative approaches to performance. His hybrid short films have screened at the Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival, Frameline Film Festival, New Orleans Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival among over 20 others worldwide, and been both a Vimeo Staff Pick and a Short of the Week. Jackson received his BA in Imagined Alternatives from Vassar College and an MFA from University of California. Santa Cruz in Social Documentation.
