[EN] Nadia Cavelle is a Franco-Swiss writer director and actor, who trained at the Drama Centre London, prior to which she studied English and French Literature at The University of Zürich and worked in the entertainment and publishing industries. In June 2017, Nadia completed her debut short as a writer director, Lascivious Grace, a contemporary re-imagining of the themes and characters of Shakespeare’s Sonnets, starring Ronke Adekoluejo and Henry Garrett. Her debut play Bruises, directed by renowned French director Jean-Claude Fall, ran for three weeks at The Tabard Theatre in London in August 2015. It received a number of four- and five-star reviews, and she has recently adapted it into a short film, Girls Don't Cry. In 2014, she wrote and produced her first short film Talking Traffic, directed by Nathaniel Martello-White and Will Thorne, which was selected by The Short Film Corner at The Cannes Film Festival in 2015, and was nominated for Best Dramatic Short at The Women’s International Film and Arts Festival in Miami Beach in 2015 as well as the Audience Award at Les Rencontres du Court in Montpellier in 2016. She is currently developing her first feature film, a coming of age story exploring the dark side of medically assisted procreation.
