Hanna Van Niekerk

BIOGRAPHIE

Hanna van Niekerk (born in La-Paz, Bolivia, 1991) is a Dutch filmmaker based in Amsterdam. Hanna graduated with honors from the Utrecht School of the Arts in 2014. Her graduation film 'And They Lived' (En Ze Leefden Nog Lang) won the Wildcard Fiction Price from the Netherlands Film Fund in 2014. The film also won ‘Best Film’ at the Eindhoven Film Festival in 2014. Recently Hanna wrote and directed her first feature film 'If the Sun Explodes', produced by Hazazah Pictures. Her film debut premiered at the Dutch Film Festival 2016 where it won the MovieZone Award. Hanna is currently working on her second feature film, which was selected for the Biennale College Cinema Workshop in 2016 and is now being produced by Hazazah Pictures.
