Dimitris Gotsis was born in Athens in 1987. He graduated in 2009 from the University of Derby with a Bachelor of Arts and Technology in Film Studies and Broadcast Media. In 2012 he directed his first short film entitled "Hidden Life". Spectrum, his second short film has participated in many international festivals, such as the Drama film Festival and won special mention at the Berlin Interfilm International Short Film Festival. In April 2019, he won the Best Short Documentary Award of the “Hellenic Film Academy” for the film "The Fourth Wall" and the audience award at ShortShorts Film Festival & Asia in Tokyo. It was also a part in the “Les Nuits En Or” of the Académie des César. The script of his first feature film “Vigil” has been funded by the “Greek Film Center” and it is now in development process. In addition to his ten-year career as a director, besides short films and documentaries he also directs commercials and television shows.
