BIOGRAPHIE

Christina Yoon is an award-winning Korean American writer, director, and editor from New York and Atlanta. After graduating from NYU Tisch, Christina worked in South Korea directing branded content for Johnnie Walker and in creative development for Korean music videos and web dramas. Her short films have been official selections at numerous film festivals including Palm Springs International ShortFest, Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, Woods Hole Film Festival, and have premiered on NoBudge and the Vimeo Asian and Pacific Islander Showcase. Her work has been written about in The Korea Times and discussed by NPR Atlanta. Christina is a graduate of Columbia University in Screenwriting and Directing. Her South Korean thesis film, Motherland, won the prestigious Katharina Otto-Bernstein short film grant, the Caucus Fund grant, and the Caucus Foundation Gold Circle award. It is now being submitted to festivals. Christina likes to make dramas and genre films exploring trauma, alienation, and identity. She is passionate about increasing diverse representation in American film and television, especially through stories that go beyond the immigrant narrative. Christina is currently developing her first feature. She is based in Los Angeles.
