BIOGRAPHIE
Thomas is an audio-visual artist, digital designer and film-maker born in the UK, currently based in New Zealand. After turning down a place at art school to train independently as a visual artist in printmaking and painting, Thomas traded his trumpet for a synthesiser and moved from New Zealand to the United Kingdom in his late teens. Becoming immersed in the growing UK digital arts, music and club scene of the '90s he released recordings through seminal labels Vinyl Solution, Temple Records, and Hangman Records (NYC) and began working with emerging and established artists to realise short films, videos and audio-visual, virtual reality, print and online artworks and live performances. Developing a distinctive conceptual and technical skillset, his practice evolved to take on creative roles envisioning and designing pioneering digital services for numerous international start-ups, corporations and organisations including Greenpeace, Deutchebank, Shazam and Powershop. Most recently, Thomas has returned to focus on his cinematic vision and currently has short & feature length film projects, and an audio-visual installation in development. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film, with distinction from Victoria University, New Zealand.
