ERIKA LEMAY Show Director|Sky Dancer|Brand Ambassador|Public Speaker Canadian-born Erika Lemay has become an icon in the world of live performance, using her body in ways that defy both gravity and human possibilities. Her journey has taken her from her first ballet class at the age of four, to worldwide success and accolades. Erika is recognised as a world-class artist and famously referred to as the creator of Physical Poetry. Every show is literally a life defying moment – under the seal of elegance. She has performed extensively as a soloist guest star with Cirque du Soleil and is an Arts Ambassador for the non-profit Pensare Oltre. Vanity Fair nominated Erika as the New Queen of Circus in an interview featuring exclusive pictures by legendary photographer and Hollywood icon-maker Douglas Kirkland. His latest book ‘Physical Poetry Alphabet’ is a tribute to Erika’s work. Already an authority in the world of high-end events, Erika created and performed a solo show in 2012 to push her artistic and physical boundaries even further. This 75-minute acrobatic performance, dance, immersive technology and theatre was the first one-woman show of its genre. This show was a first Lemay direction that would be followed by many more; in Greece, Switzerland, Italy, Canada and Saudi Arabia. Today, Erika draws upon two decades of expertise to create bespoke shows and narrate other peoples’ visions through Physical Poetry. She is a master at creating minimalist and utterly beautiful images in movement. She specialises in pure lines and expression of beauty. As a director, her inspirations are fine arts and philosophy. www.erikalemay.com/about
