Ryan Alexander Huang is a writer-director and alumnus of USC's Film & Television Production program. Originally a microbiology major pursuing pre-med in his home state of Minnesota, he transferred to USC to pursue his passion for filmmaking after his directorial debut “The Root of Evil” won Best Student Film at the 2014 Catalina Film Festival. In 2017 he wrote and directed the short World War II drama “Tiger of the White Sun,” which examines the cross-cultural connections made between a stranded American pilot and the Chinese soldiers who come to his aid. His Vivian Maier biopic “The Woman in the Mirror'' screened at the Sonoma International Film Festival in 2018, while “Continuum,” a sci-fi drama co-directed by Ryan and Justin Chien, won an award for Outstanding Short Film at the 2018 Chinese American Film Festival. Ryan’s feature-length Korean War script “A Bitter Front” was recently acquired by Winter State Entertainment.
