BIOGRAPHIE

Khaldoon started to make creative non-fiction films after graduating from the London Film Academy. He was born in London of Pakistani descent, and trained in medicine at University College London. He now works as a consultant psychiatrist and occasionally makes short films. He was selected as a Berlinale Talent, and his work has been been shown at the Berlinale, Whitechapel Art Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum. He holds a masters degree in Medical Anthropology. Khaldoon’s interest in the memories of demolished buildings date back to when the medical school he trained at - the Middlesex Hospital, was demolished in 2008. He trained in psychiatry at St Luke’s hospital, dating to 1751, that was sold to developers. In John Meyer Ward Khaldoon Ahmed aims to portray the often complex emotions staff and patients have towards buildings in which the dramas of life and death unfold.
