Ya-Nung Huang

BIOGRAPHIE

HUANG Ya-Nung, visual artist, specializing in graphic design, illustration, photography and film making, she’s good at telling stories by qualitative image with simplicity. Ya-Nung is also a talented musician playing Suona – a traditional Chinese music instrument – in the orchestra. Has started to get involve in art field since in graduate school, Ya-Nung is highly interested in the relationship between man and space, especially the power relationship in between. Supported by social theories and taking visual art as a tool, she has gradually developed her artistic approach: integrating music, moving image, and body improvisation. Playing multiple roles in the creation process, in front of or behind the camera, she’s able to change positions of seeing and being seen at ease. In recent years, Ya-Nung is dedicated into experimental films, discoursing human’s condition in the space and how they interact with the environment. She’s trying to build up a dialogue in-between; Taking community art disturbance as practice, Ya-Nung is also realizing “Art is Life” to shorten the distance between the public and art. ​ Art is an attitude toward life.
