BIOGRAPHIE

Guilherme Licurgo, born in Rio de Janeiro, in 1983, is a photographer currently based in São Paulo, Brazil. His work has been featured in multiple titles such as Vogue, GQ, L'Officiel magazine, Ad Spain. He also collaborated with many international brands including Lancaster Paris, Parmigiani Fleurier, Wella, and others. He has collaborated in different advertising book projects, for Roberto Cavalli, Assouline, Select NY and Essence London. He was recognized by the Brazilian Foreign Office as one of the best contemporary artists in the country at the II Itamaraty Contest of Contemporary Art. His most recent work includes an authorial book project and an exhibition with the world renowned Martha Graham Dance Company. His Desert Flower project, created in collaboration with the Company, travels the world to this day at art fairs and galleries. In 2018, on the eve of the presidential elections in Brazil, Guilherme created a solo exhibition called Manifesto. He went out to photograph refugees and people considered to be "speechless" in society. He is now working on a new book / exhibition project that has also a very strong core idea: "We are all products of nature; global warming is a very real and pressing threat, i want to attract people's attention to the issues we are facing now showing the connection between consumerism x human beings and warn about the importance of looking now at what we are doing with the world and possible scenario that we will leave for our children. Known for his way of transforming an everyday scene into an art scene, he is consolidating himself in the market with his contemporary vision. Guilherme believes photography should inspire, rejoice, transport us to a memory undated. That passion is reflected in every aspect of his work.
