Matteo De Laurentiis was born in San Marino on 26 April 1968. At a very young age he began working on numerous film productions (Mortacci by Sergio Citti, Dimenticare Palermo by Francesco Rosi, The Godfather, Part III by Francis Ford Coppola, to name a few), until coming to Cattleya in 1999. Since the early 2000s, he has been Executive Producer for the company; films like La Bestia nel cuore, Non ti muovere, and Mio fratello è figlio unico, as well as TV series like Romanzo Criminale, Gomorrah, and ZeroZeroZero, are just some of the titles Matteo has collaborated on over the years. The period of lockdown, caused by the Coronavirus, prompted Matteo, with his wife Katia Franco, to try their hand at directing their first film entitled Er còllera mòribbus – conversazione all’osteria di piazza della Gensola [from the opening lines of a renowned sonnet in Romanesco by Gioacchino Bellini], a moving, four-handed visual sonata, a love-letter to the city of Rome.
