Susanne Svantesson has been working as a freelance dancer/choreographer since she graduated from the University of Dance, Stockholm, in 1987. She has not only worked as a dancer with many eminent choreographers such as Windwitches, Per Jonsson Dance Company, Birgitta Egergbladh, Reich & Szyber in numerous productions but has also created productions of her own since 1990. The latest work INDIGO premiered in October 2020 and is a work using dance, music, film and text in a performance. Susanne works also with film. She has made the portrait documentary films KING of HERRVIK about a boat builder from the small village Herrvik on the east coast of Gotland and NACKA MECHANICS - and the story of two brothers. The film MEN WHO DANCE is a documentary about som older men on the island of Gotland ho starts to practice contemporary dance once a week and later also performe in a dance piece at the Visby Cathedral. This film has toured in Sweden since the premiere 2015 with great success and has also been shown in several filmfestivals. THE BODY SPEAKS ALL LANGUAGES is a documentary film about a the life of a swedish dancer/choreografer/teacher.
