BIOGRAPHIE

Federico Gianotti nace en una zona rural de la provincia de Córdoba, Argentina. Luego de estudiar Comunicación Social se gradúa como Director de Fotografía en ENERC (INCAA), en Buenos Aires y en ESCAC, en Barcelona. Después de 5 años en el exterior vuelve a Córdoba. En 2016, escribe y dirige el cortometraje “N2480”, pieza final del Posgrado en Documental Contemporáneo. Atraído por la llanura como geografía sensible en la historia argentina y por el encuentro dramático entre criollos e inmigrantes italianos en el campo argentino, comienza a investigar y relacionarse con el tema. En 2016, recorre distintos pueblos rurales registrando testimonios sonoros y realizando retratos de ancianos, tanto descendientes de criollos como de inmigrantes italianos, lo que finalmente culminó en una exposición fotográfica. En 2017 participa de un taller de guión con la guionista Gabriela Vidal donde escribe el guión de “Los Espíritus”. En 2019 recibe una beca del Fondo Nacional de las Artes para el mismo proyecto. En 2021, escribe y dirige “La Continuidad de la Gracia”, cortometraje que se desprende del universo de “Los Espíritus”. Federico Gianotti was born in a rural area of ​​the province of Córdoba, Argentina. After studying Social Communication, he graduated as Director of Photography at ENERC (INCAA), in Buenos Aires and at ESCAC, in Barcelona. After 5 years abroad, he returned to Córdoba. In 2016, he wrote and directed the short film “N2480”, the final piece of the Postgraduate Program in Contemporary Documentary. Attracted by the plain as a sensitive geography in Argentine history and by the dramatic encounter between Creoles and Italian immigrants in the Argentine countryside, he begins to investigate and relate to the subject. In 2016, he toured different rural towns recording sound testimonies and taking portraits of old people, both descendants of Creoles and Italian immigrants, which finally culminated in a photographic exhibition. In 2017 he participated in a script workshop with the screenwriter Gabriela Vidal where he wrote the script for “Los Espíritus”. In 2019 he received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for the same project. In 2021, he wrote and directed “La Continuidad de la Gracia”, a short film that emerges from the universe of “Los Espíritus”.
