Samantha Orozco Carvallo (Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Mexico in 1996). Biomedical engineer. Graduated from the Technological Institute of Hermosillo. In 2013, together with a group of friends, she began to make small short films as an amateur, that same year he received her first prize by winning second place in the contest of short films Date un minuto, Hermosillo, with the short titled “Hermosillo from another window". In 2014 she participated again, obtaining first place with the short “Sigues tú”. Starting from that point she participated in numerous competitions and began to develop the animation in stop motion. In 2015 she obtained honorable mention in the international contest # 6400life video contest of Li-Cor with the video “NewsWild Plants”. In 2019 she won third place in the youth talking about health contest, organized by the University of Sonora and the Ministry of Health. In 2016 she participated in an intensive film course where he began the development of her first professional project: Esmeralda, an animated documentary with the stop motion technique. Esmeralda Project received an award for development from the DOCS Mx platform and the Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía (IMCINE) in 2019. In addition, it has won the following production awards such as the Estímulo Fiscal para la Cultura y las Artes del Estado de Sonora (EFICAS) and Fondo de apoyo a la producción en Sonora (FAPS), in 2019. Samantha maintains a close relationship between her professional studies and artistic career it considers that both complement each other.
